H1Z1: Battle Royale on PlayStation 4 is getting a new free expansion, one of the largest updates in the game's history on the console, in fact.

The game will soon be adding two new game modes, debuting Ranked Leaderboards, a new 100-tier Battle Pass, and several other additions that diehard fans won't want to miss.

One new game mode is the FFA Deathmatch, which takes H1Z1's already fast-paced action and combat on a larger scale and transforms it into a free-for-all. Fifty players will be dropped into a combat zone where they'll respawn instantly when killed and have access to a wide variety of weapons. The goal is to reach 25 kills before the timer runs out.

If you need help honing your skills, you can try out the Traininng Grounds. These are available for both newbies and vets, and you can test out a variety of weapons to get a feel for their firing rate, recoil, and more before jumping into the game and kicking some butt.

Ranked Leaderboards for Season 3 will find the game introducing a new ranking system to go along with its seasonal leaderboards already in place. They'll be organized across Bronze to Master tiers, and will track kills, number of matches played, and a variety of other states.

Last bu not least, the Season 3 Battle Pass comes rocking an aforementioned 100 reward tiers and a whopping 200 cosmetic items, with new item types and nine complete outfits. It's the biggest Battle Pass the game has had yet, and PlayStation Plus subscribers get additional reward tracks, where more goodies are housed.

There's a complete announcement blog over at the office H1Z1: Battle Royale website where you can learn more, but it sounds like big things are coming for players here. Are you done with adding more battle royales to your collection or are you going to see what the new season has to offer?
