Treyarch teases update on what's next for Blackout

It looks like we could be seeing some hot new action with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and its next major operation on the horizon.

The game should be getting its latest content drop as of February 19 on PlayStation 4 and February 26 on Xbox One and PC, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 players will get a sampling of content for multiplayer, Zombies, and of course the battle royale Blackout mode.

In a short gif with the caption "Here's the plan..." the official Call of Duty Twitter account teased a location with an X on a set of bluprints seemingly for a new area in Blackout. The X is located in the southeast portion of the map, but there are also several hotspots noted in various other areas as well. It's unclear at this time what they all mean, but fans are thinking it could be a new point of interest worth talking about.

The possibility of multiple points of interest coming to Blackout certainly has fans excited, and this map is indicative of at least one new larger location. With Apex Legends out on the market now, there's more pressure than ever for Call of Duty's battle royale mode to succeed, even more so than in the past with competition like Fortnite and PUBG to keep an eye on. The new game in town is competent and taking the community by storm, so it's not hard to see how Blackout needs to branch out and add more content to keep its player base happy.

We'll have to wait for an official announcement from Treyarch, however, until we know exactly what's coming at a later date. Once we know more, we'll make sure you have the full scoop as well. Keep it tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.
