Pokémon GO fans have reason to celebrate this Lunar New Year as they’ll have a chance to get their hands on a very special Pokémon over the next month or so. In celebration of the Chinese New Year, Pokémon GO has added a shiny version of the mythical Pokémon , Meltan. This Pokémon is only available for a very limited time, and there’s currently only one way to get your hands on it. Here’s what you need to know.
How to Get Shiny Meltan
If you want to get your hands on Shiny Meltan and add this very special Pokémon to your collection, then you’re going to need to act quickly. Shiny Meltan will only be available in Pokémon GO from February 5 to March 4 at 11:59PM PST.
This shiny variation of Meltan will only be available to trainers through the Mystery Box system, so in order to obtain Shiny Meltan, you’re going to need to get your hands on some Mystery Boxes and start opening them up. On top of that, Mystery Boxes also include a cooldown timer, which will be reduced quite a bit—to only three days—during this event. If you, however, start opening Mystery Boxes before the event begins, you’ll need to wait the usual time for the cooldown.
Shiny Meltan is now available in Pokémon GO and will be available until March 4. Of course, you’ll need to take a chance to obtain this Pokémon , as it isn’t a guaranteed drop, so just keep opening up Mystery Boxes as often as possible to increase the chances of getting your hands on this little gem.
