How to fix main menu not loading in Apex Legends

Solve the problem of the main menu loading infinitely in Apex Legends.

1

Apex Legends surprised all of us with its quick announcement and release, and as gamers are jumping in to play, some are encountering loading problems. One issue in particular is the load spinner infinitely spinning when trying to load the main menu, which of course means players are unable to launch into a match.

Main menu not loading

Being unable to load the main menu in Apex Legends is a problem that affects players from time to time, and an error that Respawn Entertainment is aware of. The problem takes on the appearance of the loading spinner icon infinitely spinning, never allowing gamers to reach the next important step.

Respawn Entertainment where quick to issue a fix, much to the joy of players everywhere. In saying this, just because the loading problem has been solved now, does not mean it is gone forever. In the event you are experiencing the infinite spinner on the main menu when trying to load in, disconnect from Apex Legends and reboot the game.

The act of “turning it off and on again” is a solid fix for just about every technical problem, and it can certainly be applied to Apex Legends. If, for some reason, the main menu continues to load infinitely, it could be worth doing a complete system reboot: exit out of Apex Legends and restart your Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PC.

In the event that restarting your system still does not fix Apex Legends, and provided it’s not a server instability or connectivity problem, it could be worth uninstalling and redownloading the game. This is a rather extreme action to take, especially for those with limited data plans, so use your best judgement.

Fixing the menu load problem in Apex Legends should be as simple as restarting the game, though if the game continues to get stuck infinitely loading, drastic actions might be required. Thankfully, Respawn seems to be on top of the latest problems and errors, so there should be quick fixes for any bugs that might arise in the future. In the meantime, check out the Apex Legends controls and keybindings so you're prepared for the fight.
