Smash Ultimate Ver. 2.0.0 issues major balance changes

The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 2.0.0 patch is now out in the wild and it's issuing major balance changes for just about everyone on the roster.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been out for almost two months and Nintendo's fighter is leveling up to its 2.0.0 patch. The patch was deployed on Tuesday afternoon, with balance tweaks being issued to a bulk of the game's hefty roster. But this being Nintendo, of course they didn't upload any patch... wait, no... they did upload patch notes! Hey, how about that!

The specific fighter adjustments for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Ver. 2.0.0 have been issued on the Nintendo website. Here's what we have so far:

Mario

  • Dash Attack: Adjusted launch angle.
  • FS Meter: Extended launch distance.

Donkey Kong

  • Forward-Air: Shortened landing time.

  • Up-Air: Shortened landing time.
  • Neutral B: Shortened landing time.

Samus

  • Side B: Extended range on missile, reduced vulnerability when using it in mid-air.
  • Down B: Reduced vulnerability.

Dark Samus

  • Down B: Reduced vulnerability.

Yoshi

  • Forward-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.

Kirby

  • Dash Attack: Increased power range and attack power while maintaining launch distance.
  • Side-Tilt: Slightly reduced vulnerability and extended undamaged launch distance.
  • Down B: Adjusted super armor frames after use.

Pikachu

  • Grab: Shortened hitstun time.

Luigi

  • Up Smash: Extended launch distance.
  • Down-Air: Grounded opponents no longer take meteor hits.
  • Side B: Reduced vulnerability.
  • Down B: Extended launch distance.

Ness

  • Up-Air: Shortened landing time.
  • Down-Air: Increased attack power, maintained launch distance.

Jigglypuff

  • Side-Tilt: Reduced vulnerability.
  • Down-Tilt: Extended launch distance.
  • Up Smash: Increased attack power of low-power zone.
  • Back-Air: Increased attack speed.
  • Forward Throw: Adjusted launch angle.
  • FS Meter: Extended launch distance.

Peach/Daisy

  • Up Special: Shortened launch distance of repeated attacks.

Bowser

  • Neutral B: Increased power.
  • Side-Tilt: Increased power.
  • Down Smash: Extended launch distance.
  • Up B: Easier to hit multiple times.
  • Final Smash/FS Meter: Crouching opponents now get launched the same as standing opponents.

Ice Climbers

  • Basic Movements: Nana and Popo now follow each other more when separated.
  • Up B: Easier to grab edges.

Sheik

  • Up Smash: Increased the first attack's range.
  • Down Smash: Easier to hit multiple times.
  • Forward-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.
  • Up-Air: Shortened landing time.
  • Side B: Reduced vulnerability.

Pichu

  • Grab: Shortened hitstun time.

Ganondorf

  • Forward-Air: Shortened landing time.
  • Up-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.

Mewtwo

  • Dash Attack: Shortened downtime from shielding.
  • Side-Tilt: This move now always launches forward.
  • Up B: Easier to grab ledges.

Roy

  • Down-Air: Shortened landing time.

Chrom

  • Down-Air: Shortened landing time.
  • Up B: Shortened meteor distance. Chrom now gets KO'd first when falling off the stage with an opponent.

Mr. Game & Watch

  • Forward-Air: Increased attack range.
  • Down-Air: Shortened landing time.

Pit

  • Final Smash/FS Meter: Crouching opponents now get launched the same as standing opponents.

Zero Suit Samus

  • Side Smash: Shortened the launch distance when the attack hits the middle of an opponent's body.
  • Forward-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.
  • Up-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.
  • Down B: Shortened the amount of time undamaged opponents are buried.

Wario

  • Down-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.

Snake

  • Up-Tilt: Extended high-damage window.

Ike

  • Up B: Shortened meteor distance.

Charizard

  • Dash Attack: Increased attack power and extended launch distance.

Diddy Kong

  • Neutral-Air: Shortened landing time.

Lucas

  • Up-Tilt: Added electrical damage.
  • Neutral-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.
  • Down-Air: Added electrical damage.
  • Grab: Added electrical damage.

Sonic

  • Side-Tilt: Easier to hit multiple times.
  • Forward-Air: Shortened hitstun time.
  • Back-Air: Reduced vulnerability when landing.
  • FS Meter: Extended launch distance.

King Dedede

  • Side B: Reduced attack range of moving Gordos.

Lucario

  • Forward-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.
  • Neutral B: Shortened hitstun time.
  • FS Meter: Increased power.

R.O.B.

  • Side B: Easier to hit multiple times.

Toon Link

  • Forward-Air Shortened landing time after use.
  • Back-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.

Mega Man

  • Side-Tilt: Special moves will not be activated when jumping and using the Mega Buster.

Rosalina & Luma

  • Dash Attack: Easier to hit multiple times.
  • Up-Tilt: Extended launch distance for Luma.
  • Down-Tilt: Extended distance that Luma moves forward.
  • Neutral-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use, increased amount of time hit detection lasts.
  • Forward-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.
  • Down-Air: Shortened time between start of move and meteor effect.
  • Neutral B: Reduced vulnerability when sending out and calling back Luma.
  • Up B: Easier to grab ledges.
  • Final Smash/FS Meter: Shortened the distance you can shift when the attack is making contact.

Little Mac

  • Neutral-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use, shortened landing time.
  • Up-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.

Greninja

  • Down-Smash: Increased the range of inner attacks.
  • Up B: Can no longer move immediately when landing on a moving platform or slanted ground.

Mii Brawler

  • Flurry Attack: Increased attack range, shortened opponent's hitstun shuffle distance.
  • Up Smash: Extended high damage window and reduced low damage window.
  • Neutral-Air: Reduced vulnerability when landing.
  • Back-Air: Reduced vulnerability when landing.
  • Up-Air: Increased power.
  • Neutral B: Increased power, reduced vulnerability.
  • Side B: Extended distance, increased speed.
  • Up B: Easier to grab ledges.
  • Down B: Greatly increased damage to opponents' shields, extended launch distance of kick performed with extra input.

Mii Gunner

  • Forward-Air: Shortened landing time.

Palutena

  • Neutral-Air: Shortened hitstun time.
  • Up B: Easier to grab ledges.

Pac-Man

  • Forward-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.
  • Down-Air: Shortned landing time.
  • Neutral B: Extended time until you disappear after landing the attack.

Robin

  • Up B: Increased speed of backwards edge-grab range detection.

Shulk

  • Forward-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use, shortened landing time.
  • Up-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.

Duck Hunt

  • Neutral B: Reduced vulnerability.
  • Side B: Increased vulnerability, shortened hitstun time for exploding clay pigeons.

Ryu/Ken

  • Neutral Attack: Opponents hit into the air will be launch, making it easier to connect with the next hit.
  • Forward-Air: Shortened landing time.
  • Down-Tilt: Can no longer jump immediately after use.
  • Neutral-Air (Ken): Shortened landing time.

Cloud

  • Forward-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.
  • Down B: Increased the range of Finishing Touch at the beginning of the move.

Corrin

  • Neutral-Air: Shortened landing time.
  • Forward-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.
  • Up-Air: Shortened landing time.

Bayonetta

  • Neutral-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.

Inkling

  • Neutral-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.
  • Side B: Shortned the amount of time undamaged opponents are buried. Moved attack range back while on the ground.

Ridley

  • Neutral-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.
  • Forward-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.
  • Down-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.
  • FS Meter: Increased power.

King K. Rool

  • Neutral B: Shortened length of vacuum effect.
  • Up B: Reduced range of attack
  • Down Throw: Shortened the amount of time undamaged opponents are buried.

Isabelle

  • Neutral-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use., shortened landing time.

Incineroar

  • Up Smash: Extended launch distance.
  • Up-Air: Shortened the time that you cannot grab edges after use.
  • Down-Air: Shortened landing time.
  • Up Throw: Extended launch distance.
  • Up B: Extended vertical and horizontal distance.

Now take a breath, because that was a lot. The biggest takeaways are that a handful of characters received some modest buffs. Luigi and Rosalina, in particular, appear to have received some needed boosts. Those looking for an end to King K. Rool's reign of terror will likely be disappointed, as his nerfs were on the minimal side. And don't sleep on Bowser, who looks to have gotten an overall power boost to make up for his mobile shortcomings.
