Games Done Quick for a fresh year of speed runs for charity. Awesome Games Done Quick takes place every January, uniting the best speedrunners in the world with the best games of the past and present. The runners will look to finish these games as fast as possible, as they raise money for charity in the process.

This year kicks off a new era for Awesome Games Done Quick, as this year's event is being held in an all-new venue. The week takes place from the Marriott Bethesda North Hotel in Rockville, Maryland. They will be raising money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The event has begun and GDQ has raised almost a full million with just under two days left to go. Shacknews is here with a handful of noteworthy runs from throughout the week that should not be missed.

Before getting into the Day 6 schedule, let's look back at a Day 5 highlight. ORRRRRRRRRRRBBBBB!

Here's the full schedule for Day 6, taken from the Games Done Quick website, along with a handful of noteworthy runs to check out:

5:26 AM Puyo Puyo Tetris Extra Stages 100% - PC Scottobozo 40:00

8:22AM - Divinity: Original Sin 2

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is a rich, robust RPG that can last hundreds of hours. Or, through the helpful use of glitches and certain exploits, it can go in just under a half hour. Semanari will demonstrate some big-time shortcuts on the old patch to help kick off Friday's action.

6:01PM - Super Mario Sunshine

Super Mario Sunshine has been run a lot at AGDQ over the years, so this year's run will have a bit of a twist. This, of course, begs the question of just what the heck is 1v1 Lockout Bingo?

SMS Bingo tasks runners with completing five tasks on a bingo card in either a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line. The run ends when five of those tasks have been completed. Defeating Bowser is not necessary to complete the run. This should look very different and very fascinating, making for some intriguing Friday night viewing.

7:41PM - Final Fantasy IX

It's the classic Final Fantasy IX. It's three runners. It'll be approaching midnight on the east coast. And it's a whopping 9 hour and 35 minute target time. Good luck, all. I don't know how you do it, but it'll be amazing to watch you all make this run.

Awesome Games Done Quick 2019 will take place from now through Saturday, January 12. For more, check out the Games Done Quick website and be sure to watch all of the action from Twitch. Also, be sure to check out our TwitchCon interview with GDQ's Matt Merkle.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
