Aftercharge Tips from the Developers

Aftercharge offers a unique take on the FPS arena genre and the developers have put together this handy list of tips straight from the studio. Take notes, get your team together and then dive into the game today.

It's an FPS Unlike Any Other
You may have played many other shooters before but nothing like Aftercharge. It’s more about strategy than actual shooting. If you jump into the game thinking “I got this” you might hit a bit of a wall.

You can’t kill the defenders
When playing offense, the invisible robots, your opponent team is invincible. Don’t run up to them and try to punch them, they can’t die. They can’t even be damaged. Try to avoid them.

Enforcers will need to take out enemy robots before they destroy extractors.

Your extractors are precious
When playing defense as an Enforcer, your job is to protect the extractors. They can't be repaired, so every punch from the Workonics count. Quickly repel any robots on the attack!

You’re not invisible “all the time”
When playing as a robot, do keep in mind that you are many things can turn off your invisibility. Punching, getting hit by a reveal grenade and walking in front of a guard are examples of that.

You don’t have unlimited ammo
Shooting and using abilities as the defending enforcers uses energy. You have to manage your energy carefully as it can only be recharged at extractors or recharge stations.

Sitting around and waiting for the enemy to come to you is one way to ensure your defeat. Be proactive and seek out those pesky robots!

You must bring your robot buddy back to life quickly
There is no respawn in Aftercharge. When your ally gets taken down, you HAVE to revive it. It has to become your top priority. Reviving has no cooldown, no cost and no cast time, go for it!

There are no cooldowns on any abilities
Speaking of cooldowns, there are simply none in the game. As long as you have enough energy or charges to use an ability, you can do it. Your energy recharge rate and your allies are your only limit.

You have abilities
Don’t forget your abilities. Each of the characters, on both sides, have abilities that can turn the game around when played right. Take a few seconds to review them in the F1 help screen.

Robots can't remain invisible forever. Watch out for them and take them out when you spot them.

Communicate
On offense, you need to coordinate and create distractions to confuse your enemies. On defense, you need to communicate to cover as much ground as possible and converge when necessary.

You can’t “just turtle”
As defenders, it could be tempting to just turtle around one extractor and wait it out. But robots can punch you away, blind you, makes themselves invulnerable, etc. You really want to take them out before it’s down to the last one.
