GeForce RTX 2060 deal comes with free copy of Anthem or Battlefield 5

With the announcement of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 2060 comes another important tidbit of note for gamers.

For a limited time, anyone who purchases a qualifying GeForce RTX 2060 or new desktop PC equipped with the RTX 2060 will be able to choose from a free copy of Anthem or Battlefield 5. The bundle will be available worldwide in most regions.

With the RTX 2060 releasing on Acer, Alienware, Dell, HP, and Lenovo systems on January 15, you'll have to wait if you opt to receive Anthem, as it's not planned for release until February 22.

Anthem is BioWare and EA'a latest release that combines third-person shooter and RPG mechanics in an open world setting where players take on the role of "Freelancers" in exosuits called Javelins. The suits can be customized in terms of abilities and cosmetics, and different versions will be more appropriate for certain players than others.

Battlefield 5, on the other hand, is already available. Our own Chris Jarrard reviewed the game and awarded it an 8/10: "When taken as a whole, Battlefield 5 can offer an exceptional experience. It betters its recent predecessors by nearly every measure, and offers the controlled chaos that made the franchise famous. Some may find the package to be lacking in content at release and the highly anticipated Firestorm battle royale mode is not present in the launch version of the game."

If you're looking to pick up the new GPU anyway, it's not a bad deal that you also get a new game for your trouble. This way you'll still be getting the GPU upgrade you were looking for, and something to test it out with. Since Battlefield 5 is already available, it's probably a better idea to go ahead and go with Anthem, unless it just doesn't interest you – but that way you have something to look forward to.
