Supermarket Shriek set to destroy stores in 2019

In what can be described as a Black Friday simulator, Supermarket Shriek is all about destroying stores and is set to release next year.

There's nothing like wanton destruction within the confines of a supermarket. And that's the idea behind Supermarket Shriek, the latest game revealed during Saturday's Kinda Funny Games Showcase.

Supermarket Shriek, from developer Billy Goat Games, takes a strange man in a necktie, along with his pet goat, on a shopping cart. The idea is to create as much destruction as possible inside any supermarket he comes across. However, some of these supermarkets have unusual defenses in place, including killer fire pits, buzzsaws, and more.

Supermarket Shriek is aiming for a 2019 release date.

But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
