Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu and Eevee are essentially remakes of Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow, and because of this, many aspects of your journey throughout the Kanto region will be similar to the original games.

One thing that's a bit different is where you can find Professor Oak in Pokemon: Let's Go. Luckily, we've got you covered with a quick how-to on where you can find the Pokemon Professor and get your journey started off on the right foot.

How and where to find Professor Oak in Pokemon: Let's Go

When you first start the game, you'll likely be tempted to scout out Professor Oak – he's the one who's going to give you your first Pokemon, after all. Don't make your way over to his lab, however, as you normally would do in the regular games. Instead, make your way to the north of Pallet Town and walk a little further until you reach Route 1, leading to Viridian City.

You'll see Professor Oak and a few of the bird Pokemon Pidgey hanging around him. Walk up to him, and you'll see the Pidgeys scatter. You'll have a brief discussion about catching Pokemon, and then your very own will appear. Depending on whether you purchased the Pikachu or Eevee version of the game, it'll run toward Professor Oak, and you'll go through the motions of learning to capture Pokemon. Once you've successfully captured your new Pokemon, you can follow Professor Oak back to his lab. Finally, this is where you've been wanting to visit all along, right?

You'll have a chat with Professor Oak and claim your new Pokemon pal, and your rival will get his own monster as well. Go to exit the building, and Professor Oak will give the two of you your official Pokedex and wish you well on your journey.

Now that you've found Professor Oak, it's time to set out on your journey to catch every Pokemon there is. Be sure to check out the rest of our Pokemon: Let's Go guides for assistance on becoming a world-renowned Pokemon Master.
