WestWorld interview discusses visual effects and taking inspiration from Red Dead Redemption

What goes into creating the majestic setting of WestWorld? The folks at GamerHubTV attended this year's View Conference and got a special opportunity to speak to one of the key figures behind the sci-fi phenomenon, Visual Effect Supervisor Jay Worth.

Beyond going into the origins of WestWorld's visual effects and how Game of Thrones paved the way for the show's visual style, Worth also discusses another source of inspiration: Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption.

"We definitely talked about it a lot," said Worth. "We looked at key frames, we talked about story elements, we talked about scenarios. We had all those discussions at the very beginning of the project, which really did inform a lot of those decisions early on. I'm really excited to see what happens with the next game coming out. I mean, actually honestly interested to see what sort of things I might see cribbed from WestWorld in the new game!"
