A major, Seatle-based company is about to bring business to two new areas. In a move that will shake two regions to their core, Amazon has reportedly chosen New York City and Northern Virginia as the next homes for additional company headquarters.

CNBC reported via The Wall Street Journal that Amazon's official reveal of the second and third headquarters is imminent. It could come as soon as today, even. Allegedly, Amazon (AMZN) will also be announcing a stout investment in one additional city. Beyond the two new headquarters, cities could be treated like "major sites."

The New York Times reported previously that Long Island City was going to receive $180 million in preparation for the new Amazon headquarters. The alleged upcoming announcement will state that the headquarters would be divided evenly between Long Island in the borough of Queens and the Crystal City section of Arlington County, which is across the Potomac from Washington.

This major move for Amazon is going to send ripples across these two regions and any remotely close, impacting the local governments, businesses, citizens, and more. Check out Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.
