EA's biggest first-person shooter for 2018 is nearly upon us and we're getting a peek at some of the launch content. Battlefield 5 will unfold over time under the Tides of War content roadmap, but now we have an idea of what the launch map collection looks like. There are eight maps coming November, with another to be added between December and January.

The full list of launch maps for Battlefield 5 can be seen in the video and the bullet list below, including Twisted Steel. That map, based in France, features the largest structure ever developed for the Battlefield series: a massive, damaged steel bridge in the center of the map. The Fjell 652 in Norway also brings new elements to the Battlefield series. The map is set high up on a mountainside and players will have to fight for anti-air weapons to defend their positions from enemy pilots. The map also features extreme dynamic weather where the sun is blocked out by an intense blizzard.

All Battlefield 5 Launch Maps

  • Hamada - North Africa
  • Aerodrome - North Africa
  • Twisted Steel - France
  • Arras - France
  • Rotterdam - Holland
  • Devastation - Holland
  • Narvik - Norway
  • Fjell 652 - Norway

Tides of War: Chapter 1 Free DLC Map

This first phase of Battlefield 5's Tides of War content roadmap is called Overture and features War Story: The Last Tiger, Practice Range mode, vehicle cosmetics, and one new map. These new additions will be live between December 2018 and January 2019.

  • Panzerstorm - Belgium
    • Inspired by the first major tank battle of World War 2

Activision switched things up significantly with the multiplayer-only Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and EA is changing things up a ton with Battlefield 5 and the lengthy post-launch plans, which includes all free content as opposed to the Premium Pass format of old. The full roadmap, including Firestorm, the Battlefield spin on the popular battle royale mode, features a plethora of content that will be free to all owners of the game.

Battlefield 5 launches worldwide November 20, 2018, on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.

Right. If you have the Origin PREMIER SUPER ACCESS it's out next Friday. I have nothing I'm currently playing so I'm probably going to be stupid and pay it.

              Ok that makes sense.

I "might" pick it up if the BR stuff turns out to be really good, but it will need to be pretty damned good for me to bother. Otherwise I'll wait until next year and get it for $5 to play the single player campaign.

They’ll dribble out maps and content over the next year like BF1, but this time it is free. It’s worked okay for bf1 - the base maps seem better thought out than most of the maps they’ve added. I imagine they had a lot more play testing for the base maps.

Origin Access members can invite up to 4 friends to play Battlefield V for 10h on Nov 9th onwards. WHO WANTS TO BE MY FRIEND? Yes you probably need Premier access to invite the 4 people.

The Origin Access Friend Referral program** is a great way to let up to 4 of your buddies experience all the benefits of a Basic subscription, including the Battlefield V Play First Trial on Nov. 9th, and they won’t have to spend a penny.
