While the real life Golden State Warriors continue their unstoppable march to a third straight NBA Finals victory, 2K has been working on a great new way to play their NBA 2K franchise on tablets. Today, at the Apple Special Event, 2K Executive Vice President Greg Thomas took the stage to show off the latest demo for NBA 2K on iPad Pro. He went on to make the bold claim that the new iPad Pro offers "an experience that rivals consoles for the very first time."
Apple spent a lot of the event today focusing on the power of the new iPad Pro. The A12X Bionic chip powering Apple's flagship tablet device features 10 billion transistors and is faster than 92% of all portable PCs. Apple boasted the new iPad Pro line's ability to push some games at 120 frames per second claiming it is capable of doing "something that no console can deliver." 2K's Thomas said that NBA 2K19 on iPad Pro will be running at a steady 60 fps. The demo featured the Golden State Warriors beating the Brooklyn Nets with a Steph Curry three pointer at the buzzer from 40 feet away.
Apple's new iPad Pro will launch on November 7 alongside the new Mac Mini, and MacBook Air products. NBA 2K19 is available now on the App Store, so you can download it today and start ripping the hearts out of NBA fans as you ruin the sport with the over-powered Golden State Warriors. Of course, you will have to wait until next month to get the best performance for the game on the new iPad Pro announced today at the Apple Special Event.
