Ellen joins Ninja on Twitch, breaking his rule against streaming with females in the name of profit

Twitch star Ninja has broken one of his own rules regarding live streaming with female players. The incredibly popular Fortnite streamer has previously gone on record saying that he does "not play with [females] at all," but he seemed to have no qualms against streaming live with television host Ellen Degeneres.

Why is it that Ninja had a policy against broadcasting with female streamers? According to an interview with Polygon, the notion was apparently meant to prevent rumors (and 'fake news' headlines) of salacious behavior.

"If I have one conversation with one female streamer where we're playing with one another, and even if there's a hint of flirting, that is going to be taken and going to be put on every single video and be clickbait forever," Blevins said. "The only way to avoid that is to not play with them at all."

Streaming Fortnite with a name as big as Ellen is obviously a big win for Ninja, even if Ellen didn't actually play the game, but doubling back on previously reported stances does seem iffy. Even though Ninja's goal is to avoid rumors and clickbait stories, there's little doubt that players will now assume that any rule can be broken with the right amount of cash. We're not saying that's the case this time around; we're just saying that line can easily be drawn.
