2K Games provides STEM education and restores basketball courts with "Foundations"

In celebration of one of the top-selling sports franchises in gaming, NBA 2K, 2K Games announced the launch of 2K Foundations. The program was created to refurbish the basketball courts in underserved communities. Not only will the courts themselves be restored, the local community centers will also have tech upgrades allowed for STEM programming for the youth. The videos below show off how the program progressed in Baltimore and Cincinnati.

“2K Foundations is inspired by the basketball community and passionate NBA 2K fans who have been enthusiastic about their love for the game over the last two decades,” said Jason Argent, Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations for NBA 2K, in the press release for the announcement. “Basketball has been so good to us, and we want to pay it forward to the communities that need it most, by helping to enhance the lives of youth both on the court and in the classroom.”

NBA 2K19 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and PC. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.
