New leaks point to a minty-green Pixel 3 phone from Google

Not to be outdone by the recently announced new lineup of iPhones, the folks at Google are reportedly preparing the next generation of their flagship Pixel phones for a debut in early October. While no official information on the phones has been released, a new web teaser from Google Japan is hinting at a new phone with a striking mint green color scheme.

The teaser page is nothing more than an outline of a mobile phone that rotates when the user moves their mouse, but the silhouette shares a striking resemblance to alleged Pixel 3 that has been shown off in leaks of the last month. Google’s newest offering is expected to come in two flavors, the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL. Early rumors indicate that the larger phone will feature a notch on the top of the screen like last year’s iPhone X, while the smaller Pixel will be all screen.

Other leaks indicate that the base Pixel 3 will offer a 2900mAh battery, a 5.5” display, and a pair of 8-megapixel front-facing cameras. It is expected that the Pixel 3 will sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC and 4GB of RAM. The Pixel 3 is likely to be the first device to ship with Google’s new Android 9.0 Pie OS. Google has an event planned in New York City for October 9. This is likely when all the details on the Pixel phones will be made official.
