A developer on the high action racing game chats about gameplay and the inspirations behind it

1

Our own Greg Burke caught up with a developer on the upcoming GRIP to learn about what players can expect when the game launches. GRIP is a very intense, more action based racer heavily inspired by 90’s games and toys like Rollcage and Tyco Rebound. In the interview below, the dev talks about how they used these inspirations to mold the core gameplay of GRIP and how the integration of combat creates a unique racing experience

Also discussed in the interview is the dynamic movement and physics of the vehicles in GRIP. The dev explains the specific design choices the team made when crafting the vehicles and terrain so that players would have the opportunity to utilize the full range of abilities.

GRIP crashes onto PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch on Novmber 6. Until then, keep it locked on the Shacknews and GamerHub.tv YouTube channels for more gaming and tech interviews.
