The latest Fortnite update, v5.40, has been detailed on the official website and, while there are some intriguing additions on the way, there is one unfortunate casualty on the list. The Drum Gun was added to the Fortnite battle royale arsenal this July, but it is now in the Epic Games vault and unavailable to players.
To balance things out a bit, the new Suppressed Assault Rifle has been added. The official Fortnite blog post states that the new gun "rewards trigger discipline with precision." In addition to this news, the Getaway LTM mode gets a handful of bug fixes and the Weekly Horde Challenge 6 has gone live for Fortnite: Save The World players. Field Agent Rio has also been added to the challenge. You can find the full list of changes in the previously linked blog post.
The Drum Gun is officially vaulted, but there's no telling if it will stay that way forever. With time, Epic Games could modify it so that it sticks around when it gets revived. Worst case, the gun could return as part of a Fortnite limited-time mode. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.
