By his own admission, Daniel Bryan (a.k.a. Bryan Danielson) has had a WWE career filled with ups and downs. After clawing his way through Japan and smaller promotions like Ring of Honor, WWE hazed him heavily through his first few years on the roster. But after unprecedented fan support, Bryan made it all the way to the Wrestlemania main event, where he won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

On Monday, 2K Sports offered a first look at the Daniel Bryan Showcase single-player mode that will be featured in WWE 2K19. Players will relive many of Daniel Bryan's storied moments in the company. There are the highs of his first world title win, his Wrestlemania Ladder Match victory a year later, his Team Hell No tag team run with Kane, and his Wrestlemania main event. There are also the lows that included his 10-second loss to Sheamus, his losing feud with the Wyatt Family, his humiliating NXT run, and his eventual retirement. Players will also run through Bryan's return from his retirement and continue his story all the way through his feud with bitter rival, The Miz.

WWE 2K19 is set to release on October 9 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Those who pre-order will also get to play with Rey Mysterio and Ronda Rousey.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
