Game fans who like to stay on top of the latest industry news will certainly be interested to hear of developments from Gamescom 2018, an event that's practically guaranteed to be one of this year's biggest European video game conventions. Billed as "Europe's leading conference on the potential of computer and video games for society as well as the economy," Gamescom is an event held each year in Cologne, Germany. Hosted at the Koelnmesse convention center, Gamescom 2018 will be the tenth convention to be held since its inception in 2009.
There are two different sets of dates and times that Gamescon attendees will want to keep in mind: one for trade visitors, and another for general public attendees. The floors open to trade visitors starting on Tuesday, August 21, while the convention opens to the public on Wednesday, August 22. Beyond that, all public events will be limited to public halls only, while trade visitors will have access to events in the business center through Thursday. Here's the full breakdown:

Unfortunately, as of the time of writing, nearly all Gamescom 2018 tickets appear to be sold out. There are still openings for afternoon tickets on Wednesday, August 22, but that appears to be it. However, children 4-6 years of age can enter free on any day, as no ticket purchases will be required. There's a long list of events scheduled to be held at Gamescom 18, including special presentations from guests like Maxime Durand of Ubisoft, Ben Schwab of Magic Leap, and Andreas Lange, director of the Computer Games Museum in Berlin.
