Unquestionably the game that created the most buzz at E3 2018, CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 has fans wanting any information on the upcoming first-person science fiction shooter. Its slick trailer capped off Microsoft's E3 press briefing and gave the public its first glimpse into what the studio behind The Witcher 3 has been up to. We were able to speak with CD Projekt Red level designer Max Pears while the team was in Los Angeles and asked some questions about what players can expect from the world of Cyberpunk 2077.

Pears dives into one of the biggest changes between The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, the shift from a defined, premade protagonist and one made by the player. The development team will allow players to create their own protagonist to experience the world of Cyberpunk 2077 with a character creation suite and additional modifications and augmentations that will come along as they progress through the game. With augmentation and cybernetics playing such a huge role within the game world, the development team felt that the player character should be able to partake in the enhancements that the futuristic setting will allow.

Pears also touches on the construction of the game world and how environments will make use of the vertical nature of the skyscrapers that litter the city in Cyberpunk 2077. As always, we asked about a possible Nintendo Switch port and when players can expect to see the game on shelves.
