E3 2018: OtherSide Games' Joe Fielder Talks Underworld Ascendant

The Abyss is calling you.

4

OtherSide Entertainment's Joe Fielder was on hand during E3 2018 to talk the upcoming Underworld Ascendant, a new first-persona action RPG that acts as the sequel to Ultima Underworld: The Stygian Abyss and Ultima Underworld II: Labyrinth of Worlds. Players take on the Avatar on their journey back into the Stygian Abyss, who's magically taken into the Underworld.

In the game, three factions are vying for control: Dwarves, Shamblers, and Dark Elves. You'll use a variety of different abilities, both melee and magical, as the balance shifts from group to group in the Abyss. There are multiple different, unscripted solutions to solve various scenarios, with plenty of different player options available.

Underworld Ascendant is coming to PC this September if you can't wait to get your hands on it.

Thanks for this one, I hadn't seen anything on these guys at E3 yet. Good interview. I've heard things here that I haven't heard before like some of the details on the world changing over time. I am a backer so I'm looking forward to playing this.

Always glad to see it covered, but that sort of info is in the backer updates you should be getting.

I get the backer updates but what he specifically said I don't remember seeing *shrug*

Yeah, I backed this one too and I've very excited for it. I think the whole 'world changing' thing is something they revealed at E3 because I hadn't heard much about that before either but then they talked about it here and at Giant Bomb as well.

Looking forward to this one. It should be good.
