Bethesda's surprisingly addictive base-building title Fallout Shelter has been kicking around the mobile and Microsoft marketplaces for a few years, but players who prefer to game on rival hardware haven't had the chance to enjoy the title through their preferred medium. That has now changed, as Bethesda has revealed during their E3 2018 showcase that Fallout Shelter will soon be coming to both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

To make the news even sweeter, Sony and Nintendo fans won't have to wait another minute to check out the game, as Bethesda revealed that Fallout Shelter is available for both PlayStation 4 and Switch right this very moment. Players can download it for free through the platform's respective online storefronts.

It comes up a lot on Nintendo forums so there is some demand there.

Since the original game was likely written with Unity and since Unity runs on goddamn everything, the effort to get it working is probably minimal and then you have one more potential income source.

Todd Howard said during the presentation that over 120 million people have played the game, which is more than all other Bethesda Game Studios' games combined. So maybe gamers aren't asking for it, there's definitely demand (and loot boxes to be sold).

Why? I think it's a valid question. It's a 2 year old, f2p, mobile game that forces you to wait to play. I honestly didn't know it had a huge following where it warranted a ps4 and switch release.

because people don't have to ask for something, in order for it to be made, thankfully. and the implication whenever you say it is that nobody asked or wanted this, which obviously some people do and will play it.

It would be fun on the switch. Not really something I would want to play on PS4 or XB1 though.

I fired it up last night because why the hell not. It’s basically the same game as everywhere else it’s released, just with little icons for Switch buttons slapped onto everything. So yeah, in case you want it there instead of on your phone there you go.
