The Rage 2 cat is officially out of Bethesda's bag. The game was leaked originally when Walmart Canada shared games potentially planned for E3 reveals. Bethesda took the hit in stride and has dropped the official trailer for Rage 2.

The original Rage from id Software released in 2010 and had a fairly average reception critically. It features a post-apocalyptic setting like Bethesda's Fallout games, but is more action-oriented like id Software's previous titles.

This trailer is live-action and doesn't show of what to expect from the game other than the expected post-apocalyptic aesthetic, but it does reveal that a gameplay reveal will be happening tomorrow, May 15, 2018. If the trailer is any suggests anything, it suggests that id Software will be embracing the more ridiculous and colorful aspect of Rage's world in the sequel. With so many post-apocalyptic works in the ecosystem, it will be a welcome take.

Bethesda has been teasing a reveal since the Walmart Canada leak, even responding to it with with a tweet from the official Rage Twitter account. Does this mean that the other leaks are accurate? It sure does add some weight, but there are still some inconsistencies in the leak. Stay tuned to Shacknews for all your E3 coverage.

I'd be more disappointed in this but it has Andrew W.K. in the trailer so that quell's the flame of non-gameplay trailer for a game I didn't expect to see a sequel for.

I'd be happy to R(A)GE out again, especially if there is a more fleshed-out co-op mode in this sequel

They got a lot right with Rage but it was obviously fairly flawed too. I loved it but it's going to be interesting to see what they've learned from the first game. Plus the fact it's post Doom 2016, I'm pretty excited for the gameplay showing.
