Cartoony Roguelike The Swords of Ditto is Out Now, Long Live Your Swords

Instead of warriors passing down their traits, it's all about your swords in this game.

Developer onebitbeyond and publisher Devolver Digital have released their friendly-looking and absolutely adorable roguelike The Swords of Ditto, and a Saturday morning cartoon-esque launch trailer to go with it. It's out today on PC an PlayStation 4, and if you're even the least bit intrigued, don't watch the trailer below, because that just might cinch you on a purchase if you're not careful.

The trailer is a charming one, created by Powerhouse Animation, the same studio that brought us Netflix's anime-styled Castlevania series. It brings to mind all the things you'd expect from a colorful roguelike, with bunny heroes, little dudes with swords, and the animated mischief that goes along with it.

The Swords of Ditto has an interesting twist on the genre, however. As you work to fight the land's evil sorceress, you'll go through tons of adventurers, but unlike games such as Rogue Legacy, it's your swords that retain your skills, hence the game's name. And there aren't just swords, either. There are robot feet, frisbees, golf clubs, and more. There's even a special LocoRoco-based quest you can dig into on the PlayStation 4 version.

Think that sounds like something you'd be into? You can grab the game right now. Bring us more trailers like this one, please. It did a great job of capturing the title's feel and it made us yearn for simpler days. Plus, it's just so darn cute!
