Nightmarish Survival Horror Game Agony Gets New Release Date and Terrifying Trailer

Revel in the beauty of this surreal and horrifying display.

Survival horror game Agony is looking pretty fantastic, and luckily we don't have to wait too much longer to try it out. The game, originally funded via Kickstarter back in November 2016, has been dated for release this May. Players descend into the depths of Hell itself to survive a bloody world full of twisted, demonic visions, each more grotesque than the last. Seriously, count me in.

The mystery of the "Red Goddess," or the creator of the "soul-eating purgatory" you find yourself in, will take you on a roller coaster ride of weirdness. You'll journey through what looks to be a gleefully dark story mode, but there's also an open challenge system that has you finishing out different survival-based tasks to achieve a high score.

I'm hoping you do this all the while being met with some of the most disturbing sights and sounds developer Madmind Studios can muster. Madmind Studios is comprised of industry vets with experience under their belt, having worked with games like The Witcher 3 and The Division.

Can't wait to get your hands on this one? You don't have long -- it's out May 29, 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
