Get Nostalgic With Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Releasing in 2018
Activision has finally, officially announced a remastered trilogy of Spyro the Dragon games, coming this year.
This September, get ready to unleash the dragon with a new "scaled-up" version of the Spyro the Dragon trilogy, releasing this September as Spyro Reignited Trilogy. That's right, after what seems like an eternity of countless leaks, will-they-or-won't-they announcements, and speculation, Activision is "unleashing" the purple dragon for another round at winning over gamers with the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. If you've been patiently waiting for your chance to play through the first three Spyro games again, now's your chance!
The Spyro Reignited Trilogy releases on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 21, collecting Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and Spryro: Year of the Dragon into one volume for you to flash back straight to childhood with. It's available to preorder today, right now, for $39.99, and you can check out the official trailer below.
But if you want to have a more difficult time of watching the trailer (or just want to do more to see it) you can enter the code "↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → square" on the Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped title screen to watch the trailer on your game. It seems like a pretty roundabout way to do this, but, to each his own.
Lead developer Toys for Bob is handling this Spyro renaissance, so hopefully the final product stands on its own and we'll be thrilling to all the Spyro we can handle soon enough. It's only a few months away, after all.
