GDC 2018: Blast Off With This Exclusive Astroneer Interview

We talk with System Era PR man and all-around hunky stud Joe Tirado about Astroneer.

Astroneer was an instant hit with PC and Xbox gamers when it launched in early access at the end of 2016. The space exploration and base-building adventure has grown and evolved since it first appeared on the scene. Shacknews Video Editor and part-time birthday clown Greg Burke got to go one-on-one with System Era Communications director Joe Tirado.

Shacknews readers may remember Joe Tirado as he was a former editor on the site before he made the decision to turn his back on the community and join up with the video game production universe. In the interview, Joe goes over some of Astroneer’s newest features, including those introduced in the recent Basebuilding Update.

We wish good luck to the Astroneer team and Joe Tirado as he prepares his beautiful, dark eyes and his creepy mustache for this year’s annual Prince Lookalike Contest.

The new building animations look neat. I'm still holding out until Terrain 2.0 before I jump back in.

Awesome video, really cool to see Shack has been getting a lot of video exclusives on games, good job.

Also really cool to see Joe working for System Era Softworks and ASTRONEER and knowing the game started at Shack by eonix(Adam) and seeing the games success and the whole full circle is pretty amazing.

Congrats man and the team, it is really cool to see it all.
