Competition continues to get thick as dedicated platforms and software developers vie for slices of the streaming and content creation pies in the gaming industry. CyberLink, a long established provider of multimedia software, joins the fray with the reveal of Screen Recorder 3, an all-in-one solution for capture, streaming, and editing.

“With the rise in popularity of platforms like Twitch, livestreaming is an integral part of the overall lifestyle for gamers,” said Dr. Jau Huang, CEO of CyberLink, in a press release for the reveal. “We want to give gamers and vloggers alike a superior streaming solution that combines our strong video processing technology with the simple, yet powerful, video editing features we are so well known for.”

Ease-of-use is key when it comes to the mass appeal of streaming and capturing tools and that's exactly what CyberLink is aiming for with Screen Recorder 3. It can capture from televisions, desktops, and laptops. With an HDMI connection to a capture card, gamers will be able to use it to livestream to Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and other platforms in up to 4K quality. Twitch also recently released some new editing tools for content creators.

Some of the videos on the Shacknews YouTube are cut using CyberLink's Power Director software, so look for updates as we test Screen Recorder 3 out.
