Efforts to improve inclusion and growth for smaller creators on their platform has been a focus for Twitch as of late and that has led to the announcement of a new interactive game show. Stream On is a new live show that will feature up-and-coming content creators and it premieres March 8th, 2018, at 3:00 pm PST.
“Our mission at Twitch is to enable creators to make a living doing what they love,” said Marcus “djWHEAT” Graham, Director of Twitch Studios. “With Stream On our goal is to help not just these 14 streamers, but show the thousands at home how to turn their passions into a career.”
The interactive show will encourage the discovery of new creators by getting audiences to directly engage with them. Stream On will feature 14 participants taking on Twitch-themed challenges to avoid elimination over an 11-week period. The winner will earn the grand prize of $5000 per month for a year ($60,000 total), giving them the finances to take their streaming careers to the next level using things like Twitch's new video production tools.
