Take Your Conversations On The Go With Xbox Live App's Party Chat, Available Today

Keep chatting with your Xbox Live friends on the go long after you've walked away from your console.

Microsoft has rolled out its party chat feature to its mobile app on both Android and iOS devices. Starting today, you can use the Xbox Live app to start chatting with other Xbox Live users on consoles and via the app, so you don't even have to be at home to connect with your friends.

Previously, the feature was available to beta testers, but now it's up for everyone to try out. You can communicate via both voice and text while home or away, which offers up a viable alternative to options like Discord, but you'll of course only be able to speak to your friends via Xbox Live.

It gives the service a more party chat-friendly purpose, so you can take the conversation you may have been having while knee deep in Destiny 2 with you on the commute to work or plan community and multiplayer gaming sessions on your way home. You could also, alternatively, use your phone as a remote speaker to chat into while you're playing if you don't want to use a headset or other setup.

The new functionality is up for you to test out right now, so if you've been hankering for a way to keep in touch with your buddies beyond other chat mediums, you've got one perfect all-in-one solution now.
