Will Ubisoft Release The Division 2 and Watch Dogs 3 by End of Fiscal Year?

What does the publisher have up its sleeve for next years big releases?

13

As mega-publisher Ubisoft held is quarterly earnings conference call, a Resetera forum poster with a quick eye caught a snippet of information contained in one of the information slides relating to projected earnings for fiscal year 2018-2019. Ubisoft expects improved sales number based on the release of four AAA games in the fiscal year ending in April 2019. Two of those games, The Crew 2 and Skull & Bones, have already been shown to the public. With other Ubisoft franchises like For Honor, Assassin’s Creed, Ghost Recon, and South Park seeing recent releases, speculation is pointing towards new entries in the Watch Dogs and The Division franchises.

While The Division developer Massive is believed to be working on an Avatar movie tie-in, Ubisoft has stated that the project will not release until the movie is ready. It has been three years since the release of the original Division and the team has been celebrating the recent positive reception to the game’s 1.8 update. Like The Division, the Watch Dogs franchise has not seen a major release in a while, leading to speculation that a third installment could be incoming.

What other Ubisoft franchises could be on the horizon that are capable of moving enough units to justify the lofty sales expectations contained in the earning outlook? Let us know in the comments.

I'd love a more open world environment for Division 2. While they have busted their ass and turned Division 1 into a very solid, nay great, game, the setting is depressing as hell. Dead bodies, body bags, etc. Let's have some areas that aren't destroyed. Country side, etc.

First one was just a proof of concept. Just like Assassin's Creed and Watch_Dogs.

Small hijack. I finished The Division's plot sometime around release and haven't really been back. Went to the Dark Zone while it was bugged and of hackers.

Anyway, what should someone like me do if I want to get back into it a bit but don't want to dive into PVP?

This re-review has a good section on a typical week of gameplay in the game now. Sounds great, especially if you play coop.

Cool thanks. I booted it up recently, took a couple steps, looked at the map, and realized I had no idea what I should do.

Play the game, but the end game is seriously overwhelming if you’re looking to make effective builds. There’s a ton of different stats and 11 different gear sets that give different bonuses. Hopefully division 2 cleans up how the inventory management because it’s a bitch.
First off there’s world tier 1-5 1 being easiest. Play a mission on that and gauge how difficult that was. Too easy? Just ramp it up.
Not much else I can say without writing a paper. You can reroll 1 stat per item and upgrade it until max gear level. Also don’t get attached to items until you get to around 256+. That’s where the item level progression slows down because it’s random at that point.

Is it just gear grinding? I was hoping there were more instances or missions added (I don't have the DLC so maybe this is where all of that is located).

I don't know if I am too interested in just straight up gear grind.

There is the incursion which are similar to raids with unique challenges. One of the DLC brings a survival game mode in a similar fashion to battle royale where you start with just a pistol and attempt to get to the center of the map, but enemies get tougher as you go inward. Another DLC is randomly generated missions. They’re okay. Honestly I don’t know if there is extra content during the endgame. I’ve been at endgame since day 2.

Hmm. DLC sounds interesting, gear grinding doesn't. I guess I will consider if I want to spend more money on this game before I dive in again.

Last one wasn't a typical stealth game. Now take that gameplay, make it an open world with towers, collectibles, weapon crafting, and loot crates. Bam! You're welcome, Ubisoft!

The lesson from the division is to wait for 18-24 months before buying TD2

And while you wait you play the division that now delivers on promises made years ago

I recently played through Watch Dogs 2 and it was pretty fun. I would likely buy Watch Dogs 3.
