February Xbox Games With Gold Includes Shadow Warrior & Split/Second

Who wants some free Wang?

3

With the early months of the new year offering little in the way of big AAA games, it's a good time to catch up with some console freebies. Having said that, Xbox Live Games With Gold has quite a few eye-opening games for the month of February, led by Devolver Digital's fantastic Shadow Warrior revival.

Here's the full list of free games for Xbox One for the month of February:

  • Shadow Warrior: February 1-28
  • Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India: February 16-March 15

And here are the two free Xbox 360 games coming in February:

  • Split/Second: February 1-15
  • Crazy Taxi: February 16-28

Split/Second was added to the Xbox One backwards compatibility list on Thursday, alongside LEGO Indiana Jones 2. Crazy Taxi is an existing backwards compatible title (and also one we'd love on a Dreamcast Mini someday), so anyone who wants to jump into the classic arcade driving action is welcome to do so in February. Just don't expect to hear the Offspring. Sadly, the XBLA edition of Crazy Taxi does not contain the original soundtrack, due to licensing issues, so players won't get to hear "All I Want." At least we can listen to it below.

oh nice! haven't played the new shadow warrior yet.

This will be the first time in months that an decent game has been made available for free.
Past few months have been total dogshit.

Split Second was so fucking great! I wish the AI didn't rubberband quite so much, but I can see why they did it (because of how the environmental triggers worked). Definitely one of the most overlooked games of the generation. That race where the airplane crashes into the runway is still amazing

It was so much fun. Shame the studio closed. :(
