Destiny 2 - Dawning's Gift Schematic: Zavala
Find out how to complete the Zavala version of the Dawning’s Gift Schematic in Destiny 2.
As part of the Dawning event that will take place in Destiny 2 over the holidays, Guardians can complete unique quests to unlock new gear. Not all Guardians will get the same quests on the same days, so you might be busy with one while your fireteam is busy with another. Today, we’ll show you how to pick up and complete the Dawning’s Gift Schematic: Zavala.
Dawning’s Gift Schematic: Zavala
If you approach Ikora Rey in the Tower, you’ll notice some presents next to her. A prompt will appear that says Pick Up Today’s Gift Schematic. Do so and you will receive a random Dawning’s Gift Schematic that will show up in the Ghost slot of your inventory. If your Dawning’s Gift Schematic turned up as Zavala, you will need to complete the following steps:
- Red Legion Defeated 0/50
- Phaseglass Collected 0/10
To defeat the 50 Red Legion Guardians will need for this step in the quest, I spawned on Nessus, near the Pools of Luminance. Nearby you’ll also find the Cistern, as well as the Well of Flame. There will be random Red Legion Cabal roaming these areas. There is also a lost sector that can give you about half the enemies you need in one go, and a possible public event spawn. It took me about 10 minutes to get the 50 kills I required by completing the nearby lost sector.
For the Phaseglass that you need, you must spawn on Io. I started out where you find Asher Mir, as there can be several Phaseglass resources near him. I also made my way around the outside of the Rupture. If you stick to the walls, you’ll encounter plenty of Phaseglass. Again, this process took me about 10 minutes, but it could be slightly more or less depending on how lucky you get. Equipping a Ghost shell that points out the resources on Io certainly helps speed things up.
Ghaul Stress Toy
When you have killed the 50 Red Legion Cabal and collected the 10 Phaseglass, you’ll receive a quest step called Ghaul Stress Toy. It tells you to deliver this item to Zavala in the Tower. Upon doing this, I received the Warm Winter Cloak for the Hunter. Not only does it look cool, but it also dropped at 325 Power without a mod in it. Adding a mod bumped it up to 330 Power, which was a four-point improvement on my previous cloak. Not terrible for 20 minutes of easy farming, but it’s unclear if you’ll receive the same gift.
