Mask of the Quiet One Exotic helmet - Destiny 2

Mask of the Quiet One will save you from the brink of death while giving you slight bumps in energy.

Mask of the Quiet One is a Titan Exotic helmet introduced at the launch of Destiny 2. Though seemingly forgotten about as an Exotic due to the high number added to Destiny 2 over time, Mask of the Quiet One still provides some strong advantages when equipped. If you play Titan and enjoy rushing head first into the fight, then this is the Exotic for you.

The main issue for Mask of the Quiet One is the variety Titan’s now have on the whole with Exotics such as One-Eyed Mask and Heart of Inmost Light. These do the niche aspects better so Guardians tend to gravitate toward those instead.

Mask of the Quiet One Exotic Perk: Dreaded Visage

The Exotic perk on Mask of the Quiet One is Dreaded Visage, which focuses on ability energy gains and healing you. The ability energy when wounded can go unnoticed but the health boost on kill can be a lifesaver.

  • Dreaded Visage: Grants ability energy when you are wounded. When critically wounded, regain maximum health on kills.

Dreaded Visage only affects your regular health bar and will not refill or boost an overshield.

When to use Mask of the Quiet One

Mask of the Quiet One is best used in your standard ritual playlists. Strikes, Gambit, and lower end Nightfalls are the ideal places to use the helmet. The main reason for this is thanks to the health return on kills, which gives you plenty of freedom to run around and throw caution to the wind. The ability energy, on the other hand, is negligible.

A way to get the most benefit from the ability energy regeneration is to build into your Discipline or Strength stats. This will ensure these abilities recharge as fast as possible with the welcome bumps in energy from Mask of the Quiet One.

It can be used in PVP and the health regeneration side when critical is actually really useful. The main issue is there are just better PVP-focused Titan Exotic pieces out there.

How to get Mask of the Quiet One

The main source to get this Exotic is by farming Legend or Master Lost Sectors when the daily rotation is for a chest piece. To find out what day it is available, check out our Legend and Master Lost Sector rotation schedule.

It can also be found as a random engram drop from defeating enemies, completing Powerful or Pinnacle challenges, or sold by the Agent of the Nine, Xur.

"…"

"Must you all be so dark? You're too focused on the horns. Look, I have died hundreds of times hunting the shadowed killers in Murder Row. I spent years mulling over Toland's and Osiris's discourse on thanatonautics. I have dabbled a bit myself and saw what lingers immediately upon all death. What I have done is found a way to channel the Void to draw that essence in before it is lost to the ether, to return it to Light so it can be properly bestowed back on our enemies. Death does not need to be final; it can, in fact, be recycled. What's so dark about that?"

—Satomi, Architect of the Mask

Mask of the Quiet One leaves a lot to be desired and hopefully gets a well needed buff in the future.  For more Exotic armor breakdowns and guides for Guardians, be sure to check out the Shacknews Destiny 2 complete strategy guide.
