Blizzard has brought together some of music's finest acts for its annual BlizzCon event. After going in a slightly different direction last year with Weird Al Yankovic, it looks like BlizzCon is returning to rock by bringing in Muse.

"We're thrilled to close out our 11th BlizzCon with a performance from one of rock's greatest live acts," Blizzard CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime said via press release. "Muse has wowed millions of people around the world with their groundbreaking music, and we're excited that they're coming to give BlizzCon attendees an epic sendoff."

Muse may not have a specific Blizzard connection, but they are certainly no stranger to working with partner company Activision. The band has contributed several of their hit songs towards the Guitar Hero franchise, with lead singer Matt Bellamy even offering his likeness for Guitar Hero 5.

Those who can't make it to BlizzCon, but still want to catch the live Muse performance will be able to do so through the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket. Muse's live set is scheduled to close out BlizzCon on November 4, with the convention set to begin on Friday, November 3. The schedule for the weekend is out now, which can be found here.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
