The Sims 4 Prepares Four Expansions Packs for Console Release Day

The Sims 4 base game will be ready for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in November, but it looks like publisher EA will have some expansions ready to go that same day, as well.

Earlier this year, EA and Maxis announced plans to bring The Sims 4 to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, one of the few times that The Sims franchise has found its way to consoles. Monday morning, publisher EA revealed that it's not looking to stop with the base game. A handful of expansions will also be ready to release simultaneously on the game's release day.

The Perfect Patio Stuff Pack will include all of the essentials for house parties, including hot tubs, grills, pools, and matching clothing. The Vintage Glamour Stuff Pack offers up classic living, which includes housing components from generations past, as well as a Butler NPC. The City Living Pack introduces the San Myshuno region, with new careers, local sights, activities, and festivals. And then there's the Vampires Pack, which turn Sims into Vampires and adds a supernatural element to the proceedings.

More information can be found on the Sims website. A special Sims 4 Bundle will pack in the City Living Pack, Vintage Glamour Pack, and Vampire Packs all in one purchase, though it appears the Perfect Patio pack will still be sold separately. Pricing information has not been revealed for these expansions, but they'll all be available on November 17 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

The pricing model for the Sims 4 "experience" is insane. They must be making money hand over fist for them to be so predatory about it.

Every Sims after one has gotten progressively worse about it. I remember looking at The Sims 3 a while back and to get every expansion they released was hundreds of dollars, and that's not even including all the stuff they tried to peddle for real money in the Sims marketplace or whatever.

Just looked, if you buy the game and all expansions on Steam it's almost $400.
