Rising Star Games and Bitmap Bureau announced today that 88 Heroes - 98 Heroes Edition, the Switch port of a successful action game released this March on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, will reach Nintendo’s platform in early October. The game will be available both physically and as a download.
By “early October,” the publisher specifically means October 2 in North America, and October 10 everywhere else. Rising Star Games has global rights to publish the title, which will retail for $29.99 USD or its approximate equivalent, depending on the region.
The Switch version of the game ships with the RSG Champions DLC pack included, and will also include the H8 Mode Activate DLC pack. It introduces heroes from other games Rising Star Games publishes, such as Rusty from SteamWorld Collection and Gunborg from Zombie Vikings.
In 88 Heroes, players lead a group of heroes who have 88 seconds to clear challenging stages. If they take any longer, the evil Dr. H8 will wipe out the world with his thermo-nuclear warheads.
“Prepare to infiltrate Dr. H8’s lair with the help of the strangest, dumbest and most pointless superheroes ever!” encourages the press release. “With 88 levels between you and Dr. H8, only 88 seconds to complete each level and the 88-minute Doomsday clock already ticking, lead a unique band of heroes – each with their own special abilities – on a platform-hopping, enemy-smashing, danger-dodging mission to save Earth from complete destruction.”
If you’re looking for an indie action game, 88 Heroes - 98 Heroes Edition looks like it could fit the bill as it joins numerous other indie successes that are coming to the platform. Is there any other recent hit you’d like to see come to Nintendo Switch?
