The birth and life of Pokemon Go
Niantic debuted Exclusive Raid Battles in Japan recently, putting a spin on the current Raid Battles by requiring an invite. As detailed in Niantic’s post, the invites go out a good bit before the raid takes place and allow players to coordinate and devise a strategy. The event has been completed by an unknown amount of players in Japan, but it is certainly known that someone has captured the legendary Pokemon.
The criteria for receiving an invite involves having recently completed one of the standard raids at the particular gym where the upcoming Exclusive Raid will be taking place. Mewtwo launches the Exclusive Raids but Niantic’s blog says that other legendary Pokemon will start to hatch from the Raid Eggs that are earned in the raids. Exclusive Raids will be made available in the coming weeks but you best start training now. Also, take a look at our guides for capturing and using Articuno and Lugia.

:-( ... Exclusive raids, just suck. Bad for rural and urban players alike. The worst part is the word "recent", and how soon these are going to kick off. The whole thing is super greedy on Niantic's part.
