EVO 2017: Final Fight's Abigail is the next Street Fighter 5 DLC character
VROOOOOOOOOOOM! Abigail is riding onto the Street Fighter V roster.
Prior to tonight's Street Fighter V top 8, producer Yoshinori Ono took the stage for a quick announcement. That announcement is regarding the game's next Season 2 character and, as has been promised throughout the year, it is indeed a brand new character to the Street Fighter series. However, it's still a face that some gamers may recognize.
Say hello to Abigail, who long-time fans may remember as one of the Mad Gears from the Final Fight series. Abigail served as one of the bosses of the later stages, but here he is in Street Fighter V, literally towering over the competition. In terms of size, think of Hugo, except bigger and more comically proportioned.
As one might imagine, Abigail uses his massive size to his advantage. He's not easily knocked down and he can toss his opponents around like ragdolls, while juggling them with piston punches. And he makes a lot of silly sounds! It's something that has to be seen to be believed, so check out the trailer below.
Abigail will be available on July 25, along with the Metro City Bay Area stage, for anyone that's picked up the Street Fighter V Season 2 pass. There are two more characters coming this year, so start taking guesses as to what can possibly top this.

I'm a huge Capcom fan, but ArcSys killed it at E3 and they killed it at Evo. Really happy for those guys. I know it's too late for MVC:I (as far as graphics/UI ) but I still hope that this year will be a gut check for Capcom. The good news is that even if it isn't, fighting games are in a good spot from other companies now.

I'm fine with the character, but the game in general needs more to change its perception to bring in more new players. I really like the game, but I acknowledge that it's not a complete package for non hard core fighting game fans (especially vs the ArcSys games or Killer Instinct) and it definitely could use a bunch of quality of life improvements (still no rematch option for player 2, better net code, arcade mode, decreased load times on transition screens).
Most of this seems to be continuing to Marvel vs Capcom Infinite which looks rushed compared to other companies' games and even compared to Marvel vs Capcom 3/UMVC3. On top of that Capcom PR has been pretty tone deaf to its fans in their communication which is why there's a pretty big backlash from some of their long time supporters.-

DLC practices aside (which is actually cheaper than most current dlc costs for all companies) and for how much hate it gets I'd argue SFxT (especially v2013) was a good game (just not popular). Especially after playing Tekken 7 the way they translated the Tekken characters to 2D was really well done, I felt the CADC mechanic was better than SFIV's FADC, large roster, lots of customization, cool game modes (2v2 and even scramble mode for shits and giggles).
