Nintendo revealed today that they are indeed working on a main series Pokemon RPG for the Nintendo Switch. They neglected to give any other concrete details, but they did say it won't be coming anytime this year. It's safe to assume that this game may be mark the beginning of the eighth generation of Pokemon.

Isn't this pretty much a major nail in the 3DS coffin? Unless they come out with two versions, this will def compel the fan base to move on to Switch.

It's supposed to show that they're moving that way, but obviously have also put the Ultra Sun/Moon and Metroid: Return of Samus on the 3DS to entice people to keep buying the old hardware. That being said, it was kind of inevitable.

Which is why it isn't coming out this year, but new 3DS releases are.

I haven't played a core Pokemon game since Gold/Silver. I'm so on board with a Pokemon Switch game.

Sun/Moon was pretty great, after Red/Blue I tried with Gold and Platinum but I didn't really get back into it till then. Hoping for some bigger changes moving to a home(ish) console while still retaining the TBC.
