Report: Leaked Reservation Card Confirms Assassin's Creed Origins

The card lists additional content as well, including a bonus mission titled 'Secrets of the First Pyramids.'

NeoGAF user ASilentProtagonist posted a photo of a reservation card from Target decorated with the Assassin's Creed Origins logo. The card details additional content included in the "Gold Edition" of Assassin's Creed Origins, such as a mission titled "Secrets of the First Pyramids" as a pre-order bonus (why not "Origins of the First Pyramids?" Parallelism, Ubisoft! Parallelism!), a steelbook collector's item, and a season pass.

Rumors of Assassin's Creed Origins began in earnest last month, when a Reddit user rumored to be a Ubisoft employee posted a thread hinting that the next entry in the series would be a prequel set in Egypt. While Assassin's Creed Origins shouldn't be taken as a done deal until Ubisoft's E3 press conference (scheduled for Monday, June 12 at 1 p.m. PDT / 4 p.m. EDT), the photo on top of the earlier leak do point to that premise panning out.

Whether the photo is fake—unlikely at this point—or not, Ubisoft's generating plenty of buzz around the next Assassin's Creed. The series took a year off in 2016 following lukewarm reception to Assassin's Creed Unity. That means the industry has its collective eye trained on what Ubisoft has in store for this year's entry, which fans hope will mark a return to form.

Part of me just wishes they'd raise the base price of video games by 10 bucks instead of all this pre-order/DLC shit

I got into the habit of glossing over DLCs. If it's not in the box (literally or figuratively) then I'll pass on it. There are two exceptions: if I love a game, I'll spring for at least some if not all of its DLC; or if reviews indicate that a DLC I'd ignored or wrote off is worth the price of admission. I've enjoyed all of the Dark Souls DLCs, for example. Zelda: BOTW is my GOTY so far, but I'm less interested in the first expansion than I am the second, which will add to the story.

I just wish it wasn't such an obvious lie. Every copy of the game sold at retail is going to contain that code. It's not like it's EXCLUSIVE to preorder folks - it's just that they get the same goddamn thing everyone else does -- at least that's how it's been for a while.
