Honestly this is probably what I'm most excited about from the Direct. That game got absolutely zero post release love from Bandai Namco, the updated roster is literally something I''ve been saying I'd be willing to pay for since the discrepancies started happening between versions. Wonder what the launch price will be? I'd really rather not have to pay $60 for it again but that seems to be how things are going here.

I expect it to be a full priced game just like Mario Kart 8 DX was.

MK8D was always going to sell gangbusters, hell MK8 managed to outsell MK:DD on a system with half the install base. Pokken Tournament didn't sell that well originally, I think releasing it at $60 wouldn't be a bad idea. Maybe I'll break my rule and get it from Amazon then with the 20% discount if they do though.

Actually, I haven't watched the direct yet, has it said if there's a special edition or something with another one of those cards coming or was that a one time deal with the Wii U?

Pokken Tournament on Wii U outsold Street Fighter V on all its platforms combined. It did better than most people think and there's a demand for it.

Wow, I assume mainly in Japan? Feels like it ninja launched in the US, and most people aren't even aware it exists.

I'm not saying it was a flop. But lifetime sales are at about 1.3 million or something. Good numbers for the console for sure, I just don't know how well that's going to do moving the game over to the Switch.

It was much better than that was made out to be. As a fan of Tekken (and less so of Smash) I like it better than Smash 4.
