Have you got an idea for a great video game, but just don't have the capital to make it a reality? You know you don't want to do the crowdfunding thing, but you just aren't sure where to go. Well, get that proposal together because the SIEGE trade show wants to help.

The Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game Expo, aka SIEGE bills itself as the largest video game trade show in the southeastern United States. It's looking for people "to apply to make a pitch for funding to angel investors, venture capitalists, industry executives and successful entrepreneurs." If that appeals to you, then get your ideas together, as "teasers" are already being accepted for the 7th annual SIEGE Investment Conference. Go to the official site and download the one-page teaser template. Fill it out and submit it to the SIEGE investment committee for consideration.

All proposals must be submitted by September 2 to be considered. From the batch of submitted proposals, 8-10 will be chosen to make their pitch to a panel of judges. The “Best pitch” by a start-up will get a $1,000 cash prize. The top 3 pitches will get free 1- to 2-hour lunch with two lawyers named to Best Lawyers in America, while everyone that is a finalist and made a pitch will receive "free telephone consultation from leading experts regarding legal, tax and business matters." Even if you are not a finalist, you will get free mentoring and coaching just for submitting your teaser..

If you are one of the lucky ones, you won't need to pay to make your presentations. The conference is October 6 and the winner will be announced that day, and will get a 30% tax credit toward any business that is conducted in Georgia.

The Expo, sponsored by the Georgia game Developers Association, runs October 5-8 in Atlanta.
