Three new demos have appeared on the Xbox Live Marketplace today, giving players a taste of the latest (and upcoming) titles to land on the Xbox 360.
Demos for the latest Harmonix music title Rock Band 3, the motion-controlled Kinect Joy Ride from BigPark, and Activision's upcoming helicopter action-title Apache: Air Assault are all available for download on the Marketplace now. Each demo is exclusive to Xbox Live Gold members. Read more »
North American retailer GameStop has taken another step forward in its expansion to digital games and content with some new features for its burgeoning digital storefront.
Currently, the company is selling digital PC games and offering time-limited demos of certain titles, but eventually plans to offer Xbox 360 games and DLC. For the Xbox 360, customers will be emailed a code to redeem on the Xbox Live Marketplace. GameStop retail stores have already been selling some Xbox 360 digital content. Read more »

Joining the already released tracks from The Doors will be "Subdivisions" from Rush's 1982 Signals album. As with all Harmonix content, it will immediately support Pro Drums. It also happens to have an awesome keyboard part for the new peripheral. For an additional $1, you'll be able to grab a Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrade.
Although we already knew Lara Croft had discovered the sacred "Rune of Connectivity" to enable online co-op for her latest adventure, today we've learned that the "free, for a limited time" DLC on Xbox 360 will also launch on October 27--which, according to the Mayan calendar, is tomorrow.
The content, dubbed "All the Trappings," adds a new area for players to "conquer" and features the laundry list of Ms. Croft's favored skills: Puzzle solving, exploration, and shooting anything that moves. Read more »

The content schedule for the Xbox Live Marketplace reveals a handful of mostly recent XBLA additions will see price cuts in a Gold member exclusive Deal of the Week beginning on November 1. Snoopy Flying Ace, Risk: Factions, and Blade Kitten are all on offer during the promotion.
The final batch of Rock Band downloadable content before Rock Band 3 launches on October 26 will bring a six-pack of tracks from Stone Temple Pilots as well as a three-pack of Jimmy Eat World tunes, Harmonix has revealed.
Tracks will cost $2 (160 Microsoft Points; 200 Wii Points) a pop, while the STP pack will be $10 (800 MS Points) and the pack of Jimmy Eat World songs will be $5.50 (440 MS Points). They're all due on October 19 for Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3. Read more »
Bungie has revealed details on the first downloadable content headed to Halo: Reach, which will add three new maps to the game's competitive multiplayer modes.
The "Noble Map Pack" is set to be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace on November 30, at an asking price of 800MS Points ($10). The content will also add an additional 250 achievement points to Halo: Reach, which explains a lot. Read more »
On October 26, the same day Rock Band 3 is released in the US, twelve tracks from The Doors will be available as DLC. Additionally, three tracks will be free for the first week of the game's release.
Gamers can snag "Light My Fire", "Riders on the Storm", and "Touch Me" for free between October 26 and November 1 through the in-game Music Store. All three tracks will also support Pro Guitar and Pro Bass, which will not be available for all DLC songs and will cost extra when normally included. Read more »
Sumo Digital's downloadable Ferrari racing game OutRun Online Arcade has been pulled from sale on the PlayStation Network and will disappear from Xbox Live Arcade at the end of next year, Eurogamer reports.
"Due to the expiry of the contract with Ferrari, OutRun Online Arcade will remain offline on PSN but will still be available on XBLA until Dec 2011," publisher Sega told the site. Read more »
Twelve tracks from The Jimi Hendrix Experience will push the Rock Band music library up to 2000 songs when the 'Are You Experienced: Rock Band Edition' pack is released next week for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii.

Xbox Live's Major Nelson has revealed the updated October schedule for the Xbox Live Marketplace. On October 13, the free Pinball FX 2 "core" title release as part of the current "Game Feast" promotion alongside Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 for 1200MS Points ($15) and Dead Space Ignition for 400MS Points ($5). (Ed. Note: Originally I listed this month's XBLA Dead Space release as "Extraction," this is actually "Ignition"--the lead-in title to Dead Space 2. A Dead Space Extraction port is coming to the PSN.
