Magic 2014 introduces Sealed Deck construction

Making your own deck is one of the finest parts of playing Magic: The Gathering, but sadly we haven't been able to do this in the Duels of the Planeswalkers video games. This year's installment, Magic 2014, will finally introduce deck construction, in a way, with a sealed deck mode. You'll get to open virtual booster packs and make a deck out of the cards, then throw down against other wizards with sealed decks.

The wizards, warlords, Winter Orbs and Whippoorwhills of Magic: The Gathering are returning once again this year in a new downloadable Duels of the Planeswalkers game. This year's instalment, Magic 2014 - Duels of the Planeswalkers, is adding a new platform to its hand, coming to Android as well as PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

Xbox limitations led to annual Magic: The Gathering games

Magic: The Gathering hit the Xbox 360 and PC with Duels of the Planeswalkers, only to be followed a year later by DotP 2012 on multiple platforms, and now the upcoming DotP 2013. So why is a customizable card game, which is based around adding parts, getting annualized as full, separate games? According to developer Stainless Games, it has a lot to do with Microsoft's policies on Xbox Live Arcade games.
