Jeff Cannata is a man on an island (a Hawaiian one, that is), which leaves host Garnett Lee to captain the S.S. Weekend Confirmed alone. He's joined this week by his hardened crew of "Indie" Jeff Mattas, the Escapist's Andrea Rene, and Double Jump's Christian Spicer. Their destination: The fabled isle of Xbox One. The team discusses Tuesday's reveal event, what we know about the new console, and dive into the pile of unknowns and what-if's. After discussing the hardware, features, and rumors, everyone discusses reader reaction and how the Xbox One will fare against stiff competition from Sony and Nintendo. The show ends with some non-Xbox related Finishing Moves.

The new game release cupboard is looking a bit bare to hosts Garnett Lee and Jeff Cannata. They welcome in Nikole Zivalich and Naughty Dog's Jason Paul to put the Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon discussion to bed before moving on to the new Wolfenstein announcement, Warren Spector's comments, and where the first-person shooter genre goes in the future. With the next generation around the corner, the discussion begins on the best games of the past generation. That's followed by some talk about the big Disney/EA deal for the Star Wars license. The show ends with a new round of Finishing Moves.

In this rare Friday morning-recorded edition of Weekend Confirmed, Garnett Lee and Jeff Cannata welcome in early birds "Indie" Jeff Mattas and Nikole Zivalich. They kick off the show with a look back at the Rock Band franchise and LucasArts' legacy, before speculating on what happens to those properties. The talk then shifts to some games, as the crew wrap up Ni No Kuni and Crysis 3 and touch briefly on Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. The show continues with some talk about Defiance and Trion's exceptional handling of the game's launch issues and Nikole Z offers up her latest Storytime segment on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, a game so epic that she can't deliver the whole story in a single week. This week's show wraps up with a special edition of the Tailgate, discussing all things BioShock Infinite and going neck-deep into spoiler territory.

This week, Garnett Lee welcomes back his partner-in-crime, Jeff Cannata, along with Nikole Zivalich and Marcus Beer of Annoyed Gamer fame. It doesn't take long for Garnett and Jeff to have their first friendly disagreement, like all couples do, as they have a spirited debate about Tomb Raider. There's also talk more about SimCity and its tumultuous roads (that may or may not be curved), as well as God of War: Ascension and Mass Effect 3's Citadel DLC. And after her epic Pokemon rant, Nikole Z's ready to give everyone an encore when she talks Gears of War.

Garnett Lee is joined by Andrew Yoon and TRS' Dan Trachtenberg. Jeff Cannata is AWOL, presumably because he's still waiting to join a SimCity server. Dan kicks things off with yet another loving tribute to perennial show-favorite, Dark Souls. Listen as he tries to convince Garnett that From Software's hack 'n slasher is, somehow, just like a racing game. But, Garnett counters with Real Racing 3--a racing game so real, it says so in the title. What does EA's freemium game mean for the future of the industry? Finally, we talk about SimCity eventually, but you'll have to wait at least an hour or so before that talk begins. But, you're used to that, right?

With Jeff Cannata still in Barcelona, Garnett Lee is joined this week by Xav De Matos and Andrea Rene. They bring the PlayStation 4 conversation to its conclusion with some final thoughts on last week's presentation event. That's followed by thoughts on Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Crysis 3, and some early thoughts on this week's Assassin's Creed 4 news. And as always, a new round of Finishing Moves will ring in the weekend.

The PlayStation 4 has been announced, so it shouldn't be a surprise that this week's episode of Weekend Confirmed is all about the new system, services, and software. Though Jeff Cannata is away in Barcelona, Garnett Lee and "Indie" Jeff Mattas are joined by Christian Spicer and Mike Schramm to break down what's exciting, what's concerning, and that which is still unknown about Sony's next-gen console announcements. Though PlayStation 4 is this week's focus, the crew also manages to sneak in some impressions of Crysis 3, and praise for Simogo's moody iOS adventure, Year Walk. Of course, a fresh batch of Finishing Moves brings it all home.

Cannata also shares his very impressive, hands-on experience with Google Fiber, and an extra-strength dose of Finishing Moves puts the wrapping on this week's show.
