I did like that bit in the Lord of the Rings movies when they finally stopped walking about and had a big fight. The Battle of the Hornburg will finally come to The Lord of the Rings Online as "the most massive conflict yet" with the 'Helm's Deep' expansion, announced today by publisher Warner Bros. It's due to hit the free-to-play MMORPG this fall.

While oodles of older series have received reboots, revivals, re-releases or spirtual successors lately, we can't even pay to download the poor old No One Lives Forever games. What could put Monolith's delightfully daft spy-fi shooter series out of action for so long? Well, it seems the question of who exactly owns the rights is something you'd need a super-secret agent to investigate.

It seems everyone has a pocket telephone in their pocket nowadays, and many even play video games on them. To gain better footing in that mobile world, as well the hip free-to-play, social, and browser markets, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is opening a new studio handling all that jazz.

Alternate skins are old hat for video game pre-order bonuses, but being based on the long legacy of DC Comics gives Injustice: Gods Among Us a little more freedom to play with its history. "Red Son" is one of the most well-regarded alternate-universe stories in recent DC history, and a new developer diary features NetherRealm talking about turning that into a pre-order bonus.

Warner Bros has unveiled another pugilist from fight 'em up Injustice: Gods Among Us's lineup, confirming the stabby-shooty Deathstroke for its DC Comics brawl-o-rama. "Who's Deathstroke?" you may ask. Why, he's the mercenary Deadpool ripped off, only less interesting than Marvel's character turned out to be.

Note: Portions of this review have been republished from our review of Batman: Arkham City played on Xbox 360.
It's not every day that a game can see a revision that trumps the "Game of the Year Edition." But Arkham City manages to do exactly that with the Wii U-exclusive "Armored Edition." Not only does it include all the content featured in the definitive GOTY collection, it adds a few new features that take advantage of the Wii U GamePad. These additions do a terrific job of making you feel that much more like the Batman--although the port's technical shortcomings hinder the experience quite a bit.

NetherRealm and Warner Bros were smart to get all of the obvious DC superheroes appearing in Injustice: Gods Among Us out of the way first. No one would be surprised when they revealed that Batman or Wonder Woman would be in the game. So now the character revelation roll-out can rely on slightly more surprising entries, like today's announcement of Green Arrow.
