Today at its E3 press conference, Ubisoft introduced not one but two new Trials games. Trials Fusion is a sci-fi themed game in which you'll trick through a futuristic cityscape, while Trials Frontier is a game with more rustic charms. As you might expect, Fusion is for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, while Trials Frontier is a mobile game. Both will be available in 2014.

When the world as we know it ends on December 21, the survivors will need to find a way to live with their new cruel, hard, miserable existence. Fortunately, we already have a fine cruelty simulator in Trials Evolution, and RedLynx is releasing new DLC later this month to add a post-apocalyptic spin, named Riders of Doom.

Bolstered by the popularity of its predecessor, Trials Evolution set a new 1-day sales record. But as you may have noticed if you played the game or demo, a fraction of a degree on the analog stick can be the difference between "sweet jump, bro" and a passionate embrace with pavement. It's difficult, is what we're saying. So you may have wondered, why would so many people subject themselves to this?

We're going to go out on a limb and say Trials Evolution will probably have enough challenge to keep you busy for a while. If you're some kind of Trials prodigy and run out of stages too fast, though, at least you'll have user-created stages to rely on. A new trailer highlights the feature.

Trials Evolution quietly slipped into 2012 late last year. Lead designer Antti Ilvessuo finally announced details about the game's launch. "Spring is almost here, and so is Trials Evolution!”
The developer promised "a more specific release date" will be provided once the game enters certification. Until then, we can get our first look at the game in motion.

Trials Evolution has slipped into next year, according to a Microsoft representative, but developer RedLynx is shying away from calling it a delay. In both cases, those in charge seem doubtful that the game will release in 2011. It was aiming for this year when the game was announced, but no official date has been given.
